The San Diego Regional Center is a private, nonprofit organization that serves people with developmental disabilities in San Diego and Imperial counties in California. It is a service of San Diego-Imperial Counties Developmental Services and operates nearly 20 regional centers. The center provides a variety of family support services. The San Diego Regional Center additionally offers day and after-school child care services for preschool and school-aged children up to 12 years. It offers adult education and mental health day treatment services, as well as occupation programs. In addition, the center provides transportation services that include bus and trolley passes, mileage reimbursement and vendored transportation by bus, van, taxi and other automobiles. It offers Early Start, a federally funded program that includes medical services for diagnosis and evaluation; physical, occupational and speech therapy services; and social services to provide family support, counseling and home visits. The San Diego Regional Center is located in Imperial, Calif.
