San Antonio Place is the first efficiency studio project for affordable housing in the city of Mountain View. The project, started in 1999 through Charities Housing, is aimed at helping those who are steadily employed but still do not make enough (20 to 40 percent of the area median income) to pay the comparatively high market rents in Silicon Valley. This community, opened in 2006, received the Mayor's Award for Architecture by the City of Mountain View in the year 2007.
