The Salvation Army, a Christian-based nonprofit ministry, operates a collection of three used clothing, furniture and household-goods thrift stores and a drop-off site to donate items on 600 acres in the outskirts of Healdsburg. The stores, which have booths both inside and outside—weather permitting—are clustered on one side of the central part of the property. Towering over the stores is the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, which houses 60 to 90 men undergoing drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs. The entire complex, formerly a children's home, was purchased by the Salvation Army in 1904.
