History
Ramon Renov founded the school in 1938 after a career with the Ballets Russe de Monte Carlo. He taught ballet & tap to children & adults until 1980 when he turned over the studio to Lisa Eisemann. Lisa danced at the studio from the age of three and studied abroad and in the U.S. She traveled to England, Ireland, France, Canada and around the U.S. The studio has always had a tradition of Russian style ballet and it now also teaches tap, jazz, Irish dance and Bollywood. The Spirit of Salinas Irish Dance Company performs year round in the tri-county area and dancers have been to Ireland to compete. The Salinas Valley Civic Ballet Company brings pre-professional opportunities for local youth and classes are available for children from the age of 2-1/2 and up through adults. Adults can take tap classes and there is a program for Tappin' Dads who learn to tap with their daughters and perform in shows. Terrin Eisemann, Lisa's daughter, runs the office and teaches beginning students.
