Formed in 1978, The Sacramento Employment & Training Agency is a joint project of the City and County of Sacramento. Its focus is to connect people to jobs, business owners to quality employees, education and nutrition to children and assistance to refugees. The agency s Head Start and state pre-school program serves more than 6,200 children daily. Its one stop career center system is designed to integrate employment, education, and training resources from over 17 federally funded, employment and training-related programs. SETA s youth services are delivered collaboratively as part of the one stop career center system. The agency s community service bock grant program reduces poverty, revitalizes low-income communities and empowers low-income families and individuals to become self-sufficient. The refugee services provided by local agencies are intended to result in the economic self-sufficiency and reduced welfare dependency of refugees through employment. The agency is located in Sacramento, Calif.
