The main office of the Sacramento Area Sewer District is a place for the public to come with questions and concerns about their sewer service, and the office also issues permits for sewer work. Developers and homeowners building or upgrading their sewer lines can come to this location for a permit.
Bills cannot be paid at this location, however. Sewer bills can be paid at the Consolidadted Utility Billing and Service office at 9700 Goethe Rd.
The Sacramento Area Sewer District serves the unincorporated areas of Sacramento County, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova and Elk Grove, as well as portions of Folsom and portions of the city of Sacramento. If customers have sewer problems or sewer overflows, they are encouraged to call the district for free diagnostic. The district's 24/7 question and problem hotline is 916-875-6730.
The district also has a 10-member board of directors consisting of elected officials from the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors and every city the district serves. That board meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at the County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 700 H St.
