The Hermosa Beach Rotary Club has been serving the community since 1931. It is a member of Rotary International, the world's first service club, which has more than 1.2 million members and 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotarians are "volunteers who work locally, regionally and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self," according to Rotary.org.
Hermosa Beach's current Rotary president is Barbara Clark. Those interested in becoming Rotarians should come Tuesdays from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to the Hermosa Beach Rotary Youth Building, located on 2521 Valley Drive.
