History

Originally established as an herbal stop for Chinese laborers in the early 20th Century, Ron's Frame Shop quickly became well- known in the Chinese community. This was due to its quality of products as well as its location near the old China town of Sacramento, California. Today, the herbal shop is no longer situated in Old Sacramento, but on Fruitridge Road. Instead of selling herbs, Ron's Frame Shop has become a professional framing business. HistoryFounded in 1983 as Archival Framing, the shop began as part of the Michael Himovitz Gallery, offering quality framing services to art buyers. Curator D. Oldham Neath is a co-founder of Second Saturday, and has been part of the Sacramento arts community for over 35 years. She managed the Solomon Dubnick Gallery for seven years, served as president of the Center for Contemporary Art for three years, and has been the Art Curator for KVIE Public Television since 2009.
