History
From the beginning we wanted a business that focused on repair and maintenance because no one else was devoting the whole business to the residential sector. So we created ROAM Solar as a name. ROAM doesn't mean we just drive around (although we are on the road quite a bit in our service territory) but ROAM comes from Repair, Operations And Maintenance. We started at Grid Alternatives, the unique company that provides free or very low cost systems to the lower income community and also teaches solar installation skills to help people gain skills to get a job. So we are experienced teachers as well as NABCEP certified installers. As we worked on the rooftop, we could see other systems aging on neighboring houses. Some were in better shape because of better workmanship or better equipment and parts. Other systems clearly needed help to extend their life and prevent premature failures. And this is how the idea of our company began.
