Founded in 1997 in Memphis, Tennessee, the community embraces a common Rule that fosters patterns of life and spiritual connectedness. With a vision inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's Rivendell, the community provides refuge, healing, and counsel for weary pilgrims, offering both material and spiritual hospitality to all who seek it.
Comprising of both married and single members, lay persons and clergy, Rivendell Community Inc is a diverse and inclusive community. While some members live in residential houses, the majority have ordinary lives with their own homes, families, and jobs.
