Butte County Office of Education meets the specialized needs of students through programs such as Regional Occupational Program, Special Education, Independent Study, Community Schools and Juvenile Court Community Schools and administers a variety of state and federally-funded grant programs and services. Regional Occupational Program is a career technical education program of the Butte County Office of Education. In cooperation with local school districts and the business community, ROP prepares people for work by providing youth and adults with marketable skills, work ethics and job training needed to build and keep a career. ROP, accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, provides job skills and its upgrading, trained instructors, career guidance, on-the-job experience and a certificate of proficiency. It has partnered with more than 400 local businesses for on-the-job training.
