Rancho-Cotate High, a 43-acre campus that houses nearly 6,000 students, highlights a clear path for college-bound seniors. With an average class size around 24 students, teachers have the opportunity to dedicate time to each individual student. About 75 percent of students at Rancho-Cotate High are enrolled in courses required by the UC and CSU system.
The campus is adjacent to Sonoma State University, boardering Rohnert Park to the east. Two gyms and three athletic fields as well as a new stadium with artificial turf offer ample space for the school's 18 different sports.
In addition to numerous Advanced Placement courses, Rancho-Cotate High also offers a program known as "career pathways" that steers students in the direction of a specialized set of classes, geared towards a major at a junior college or four-year university. "Career pathways" courses are offered in manufacturing and product development, finance and business, marketing, media and entertainment, transportation, health science and building trades and construction.
