Quest Therapeutic Camps of Southern California is owned and directed by Jodie Knott, Ph.D. Quest Therapeutic Camps' founding camp is in the San Francisco Bay Area and was started in 1989 by Robert Field, Ph.D. Quest Camp takes place at the Central Library in Huntington Beach. Quest's administrative office is located at 5212 Katella Ave. #104, Los Alamitos, CA 90720.
Specialties
Quest is a summer camp and school year social skill therapy group for children 6-18 with mild to moderate social, emotional and behavioral difficulties (ADHD, Asperger's Disorder, Mood and Learning Disorders). Quest campers often have subtle differences from peers. Children with severe aggression, behaviors or family problems are not appropriate for the Quest. Children on the Autism Spectrum are considered if they are very high functioning. Quest is an evidence-based program found to be effective across 4 studies to improve camper outcomes across a variety of areas including: improved communication, social skills, emotion regulation, impulsivity, peer & family relationships. Quest Camps provide individualized behavior plans, group therapy, occupational therapy services, either a 6:1 or 4:1 camper to staff ratio based on age, parent meetings with home therapeutic goal development, and consistent positive interventions, while engaging in fun activities such as rock climbing, soccer, basketball, arts and crafts, movie making, video game making and field trips.
