Located at the corner of C and First Streets in downtown Davis, homes in this tasteful and modest neighborhood were built exclusively for ownership by UC Davis faculty and staff. Though Aggie Village is right next to the hustle and bustle of the Davis Commons shopping center, it does retain a pleasant village atmosphere. The houses are small but designed to provide maximum light exposure and privacy; several of them are partially solar powered. Many of these residences include even smaller cottages on the lots. Residence owners may rent these cottages to anyone. These cottages feature a studio style first floor and second floor loft. Aggie Village is also close to campus (via First Street or the South Davis Bike Path), the Arboretum and the Amtrak railroad station. Entrance to the Aggie Village is via the extension of C Street south across First Street; street parking in the neighborhood is restricted to residents.
