History
I began in a health club at 600 Grand Av. and have had 3 locations in the Grand Lake area. In 1996 I began offering Chi Gung instruction and Chi Gung Tui Na, the energetic approach of classical Chinese therapy. Recently I'm practicing Osteopathy methods such as cranio-sacral and visceral manipulation.
Specialties
I offer the customary Swedish and Deep Tissue for those who like the familiar massage methods. While these can address common issues like back pain, neck pain and sciatica, I prefer the efficacy of Osteopathic Massage and Tui Na (traditional Chinese therapy.) Osteopathy addresses virtually all the physical structures that can cause problems, not only muscles but fascia, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves, organs, etc. Tuina Massage does everything Osteopathic Massage does and then some. Specifically, Chi Gung Tui Na is the movement of energy that controls the body. Correcting the balance in the energy body amplifies the balance in the physical body. Chi Gung (Qigong) means 'energy exercise'. It is the art of increasing and balancing the flow of the life force in your body which promotes vibrant health like nothing else. After practicing this art for decades I am able to distill out particular qigong exercises for your individual condition. Tuina can correct a problem but Qigong will maintain the correction and prevent the recurrence. Tai Chi (Taiji) is a Chinese exercise art and a martial art based on qigong. It has certain forms where one movement follows another in a specified order. That requires lots of memorization so I usually recommend folks try the qigong first. I have two other locations in San Rafael (Thur & Fri) and Mill Valley (Sat & Sun.)
