History
Performance Lab of California started as a motion capture lab designed to give biomechanical feedback for the improvement of athlete performance and reduction of injuries. Over time we have evolved into a full service performance center for athletes. The issue was people were coming in to do our biomechanical assessments but were lacking in the proper implementation of the information. For that reason, we now provide the analysis as well as the training/therapy needed to make significant changes quickly. Too many training facilities implement athletes into a regimen without fully analyzing the athlete's movement patterns and risks. This puts athletes in a compromised position because as faulty body mechanics become more ingrained their limits to athletic performance and risks to injury become greater and greater. With the structure of our analysis and training regimen, we stay ahead of these risks to maximize results for our clients.
Specialties
Sports specific training tailored primarily for athletes. We put a focus on developing speed, power, strength and overall athleticism. Additionally, most of the equipment is in an outdoor setting to give a safe and secure environment for the athletes to work out in. As far as training goes the focus is on mechanics development in order to improve performance and reduce risk of injury. For this reason, our trainers will use video analysis to correct form while performing drills, lifting, sprinting, etc. This is done in order to ensure understanding of the most effective way to land, balance, decelerate and change direction. Most injuries happen in these movements so we want to give athletes the confidence and understanding of how to do them properly to perform at the highest levels and stay safe while doing it.
