History
During the Great Depression, Henry Wheeler Sr., acquired cabbage fields in the Bell Gardens area and developed the land. Initially, Wheeler provided water to the new residents. However, the area grew quickly and changed over a short time from agricultural to residential. People realized the complexity of providing water to the residents increased and required more infrastructure investments to provide water. In 1937, Henry Wheeler Sr. incorporated Park Water Company. He selected the name Park Water Company because he related water to community, parks, and people. Around World War II, the area experienced substantial growth and infrastructure investment that continues to deliver quality water to over 120,000 people today.
