Located in palm Springs, Calif., the Palm Springs Art Museum strives to serve diverse communities as one of the outstanding midsize art museums in the United States. It works to promote enjoyment, education and involvement with the visual arts and enhance the appreciation of performing arts. The museum collects, preserves, exhibits and interprets art from a chronological and geographic range and presents varied programs of performing art. The Palm Springs Art Museum has a collection of more than 55,000 objects that feature various art forms of the nations and 20th-century California art. The collection includes modernist and contemporary paintings and sculptures, Native American and Mesoamerican artifacts, contemporary studio glass arts, photographs, modern architectures and designs, and graphics and works on paper.
