Founded in 1984, Pajaro Valley Prevention and Student Assistance, also known as PVPSA, is a nonprofit agency that provides education, training, counseling and prevention services to students, families and staff members of the Pajaro Valley Unified School District. The organization administers drug, alcohol and tobacco prevention and intervention programs for youths. It provides community-based prevention services, as well as conducts antigang and criminal justice diversion programs. Pajaro Valley Prevention and Student Assistance offers services for the prevention of criminal behavior, gang involvement, truancy, and drug, alcohol and tobacco use. The organization additionally administers the Primary Intervention Program, Ayuda Elementary Counseling Program and Secondary Student Assistance Program.
