Pacific Wildlife Care is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to the rehabilitation and conservation of wildlife in San Luis Obispo County since 1984. With the help of donors, volunteers, and staff, they provide care for nearly 3,000 wild animal patients every year, representing over 200 different species. Their goal is to return healthy animals back to their natural habitats and they also offer educational presentations for local organizations and schools.
From a small group of home rehabilitators, Pacific Wildlife Care has grown into a successful organization with a well-equipped rehabilitation center, a full-time wildlife veterinarian, a small paid staff, and a large team of volunteers. In addition to their Rehabilitation Center, they also operate a Wildlife Hotline for the public to report distressed wildlife and receive information about local wildlife. Their mission is to support the wildlife of San Luis Obispo County through rehabilitation and educational outreach.
