Founded in 1923, Pacific Lodge Youth Services in Woodland Hills, Calif., provides a supportive therapeutic residential environment for adolescent boys experiencing psychological, emotional, or behavioral problems. Pacific Lodge offers highly specialized programs by a well-trained professional staff. Governed by its dedicated board of directors, it is committed to serving at-risk adolescent boys who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. Through its programs, its boys develop tangible skills and begin to understand the options that will lead them to more productive lives. Its target population is male juvenile delinquents ages 13-17. Youths with sustained charges in murder, arson, or weapon-related or multiple assaultive crimes will typically be screened out. Its success is measured by the achievements of alumni who have become productive citizens like lawyers, dentists, plumbers, printers and writers. New attempts at long-term tracking will be possible now that youths' names and birth dates are retained.
