Located in Garden Grove, Calif., Orange County Food Bank is operated by the Community Action Partnership of Orange County, a nonprofit organization that eliminates and prevents causes and effects of poverty. Founded in 1979, the food bank collects and stores donated food and allocates it to member agencies. Orange County Food Bank works with more than 330 food pantries, local charities and community organizations to distribute over 1 million pounds of food to feed nearly 900,000 people annually. The food bank provides the Department of Agriculture s commodities and federal fund-purchased food. It also donates food to various nonprofit agencies that serve low-income families and individuals. The organization serves the people of Orange County and has been operational for more than 40 years.
