History
Since November 2015, we have shared nearly 4,000 burritos and other necessity items with our homeless neighbors. We put people first with the goal of operating the County's premier transitional shelter to provide desperately needed wrap around support. By providing mental health services, substance abuse counseling, vocational skills and job training, legal advice, and ways for our guests to give back to the community they came from, we aim to create an environment encouraging self-sufficiency and empowering those who just need a little extra help. We look forward to the years to come and hope that you will join us!
Specialties
In 2015, our founders turned their passion for helping the homeless into a mechanism for change. From that point on, The Orange County Burrito Project became a means to empower individuals in their own community to address the needs of this vulnerable population. In our first year, we tripled our impact, sharing over 3,800 burritos with our homeless neighbors in addition to 4,000 water bottles, countless goodie bags with toiletries and snacks, as well as clothing and shoes! Sharing our burritos is only a small part of what we hope to accomplish. With homelessness on the rise throughout the country, now more than ever people need a hand up, not just a hand out.
