Operating Engineers Funds is a nonprofit corporation that administers benefit programs for more than 35,000 participants of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 12 and their dependents and beneficiaries. The majority of the union s engineers work in public and private construction as operators of heavy equipment, mechanics, concrete pumpers, soil testers, inspectors and surveyors. The programs administered by the company include the Operating Engineers Health & Welfare Fund, Operating Engineers Pension Trust, Operating Engineers Vacation-Holiday Savings Trust and Operating Engineers Journeyman-Apprentice Training Trust. The programs provide health and welfare benefits to more than 15,000 active participants and 6,000-plus retirees, as well as pensions to more than 24,000 members. In addition, the funds are used to conduct training and apprentice programs. Operating Engineers Funds is headquartered in Pasadena, Calif.
