The Old West Gun Room is located in one of the most interesting buildings in El Cerrito. It was originally opened in 1948 in a different location near the old lumber yard by George Repaire. It was then purchased by David Cumberland in 1969 and moved to its current building, which was erected in the 1940s. The building itself is a sight to see and one can spend a long time taking in everything from the old-fashioned sign and the cannon wheel fences.
Robert Weaver, or "Old West Bob," purchased the company in 1984 after working here for many years. Bob is an extremely knowledgeable hunter and can tell you most anything you want to know about shooting or purchasing a gun, including little-known facts. He's willing to shoot the breeze about local issues. The store has a large selection of pistols, shotguns and rifles. Used guns are traded and sold here as well. The store's website has a detailed section on how to buy a gun in California.
