History
We started in 2006 when a blue whale washed ashore the Mendocino Coast. The community rallied together to collect data from the animal and preserve the bones for future display. We don't yet have a building big enough for our blue whale, but we hope to soon! In the meantime, we also collected and articulated the world's largest orca and a few other marine animals. We opened the Discovery Center in 2018, where you can see the orca and other interactive displays.
