New Image Emergency Shelter, founded in 1989 by twin sisters Brenda Wilson and Lynda Moran, is a California-based nonprofit organization dedicated to decreasing and preventing homelessness in Los Angeles County. With over 34 years of experience, New Image provides comprehensive case management, supportive services, and housing search and placement to homeless and low-income individuals and families with children.
As a charitable organization, New Image has operated numerous programs and served millions of unhoused and low-income populations. Despite funding challenges, the organization remains committed to its mission of rapidly facilitating permanent independent housing, increasing income through employment, and connecting individuals and families with mainstream benefits to improve their quality of life. Currently, New Image is focusing on temporary housing for homeless veterans and conducting ongoing COVID-19 community outreach to those living on the streets.
