History
Like many alternative foods, mr. Dewie's was born out of necessity. Sensitivity to dairy gluten and soy, triggered a change in diet for the brothers, who came to find that the choices for non-dairy ice creams were disappointing in taste, texture and ingredients. Their goal was to make an organic, all natural, dairy, gluten, and soy free vegan ice cream that was creamy in texture and filled with flavor. In 2010, ari began working in his kitchen on the initial prototypes for what became mr. Dewie's almond and cashew milk ice creams. The almond line was discontinued in 2014 due to the growing expense of organic almonds, and they transitioned to a new line of cashew ice creams. This change proved to be a wise and fortuitous decision, as cashews make an exceedingly smooth, creamy, and delicious ice cream!
