Shereel Washington has been teaching Dance for over years with the goal of educating and preserving culturally rooted dance forms and realizing the connection that link all people. Shereel's approach is very engaging, elevating, and grounding. She graciously guides students in teaching foundation exercises and patterns to move with a clear awareness and usage of the body. Students will come away experiencing the movements, styles, and sounds of the traditional dance forms, broken down to basics, while learning root cultural stories and ideals behind dances, movements, and rhythms. Students will learn: Basic steps that's foundational in understanding the art form How to move in rhythm to different sounds & music How to hear and internalize rhythms; How to tap into your natural 'inner rhythm'; How to move with enhanced coordination and flexibility.

Move: Spirit & Rhythm program @ Deep Root, is a dance program that reveals the movement and traditions of different cultures while celebrating the spirit that connects humanity. The program offers: Pan African Dance Move in rhythm to the sounds & music of the African Diaspora. Ka Hula A beginning level class that teaches basic hula steps and execution that's foundational in learning traditional Hula.
