The Moraga-Orinda Fire Protection District (MOFD) provides fire protection and medical services in the city of Orinda, the town of Moraga and the unincorporated community of Canyon outside of Moraga's town limits. The district was formed in 1997 as an independent special district born through consolidation of the Orinda and Moraga fire districts. Chief Randall Bradley was named the district's third chief in 2009, and MOFD's current complement consists of 74 full-time personnel, 18 paid on-call reserves and eight volunteers. Visit the MOFD Web site to find out more about the services provided.
