Straw hats, golf carts, and golf shirts abound at the Moraga Country Club, located just off of Moraga Way and one of the first sights visitors see when arriving in Moraga for the first time.
A planned development comprised of town homes and detached homes built back in the late 60s by local developers Clark Wallace and Wooldridge Construction. The country club was eventually built out over several phases, starting with a nine-hole golf course and later filling in around an expanded 18-hole course and driving range in the mid-70s.
There's a chipping and putting green just off St. Andrews Drive as guests enter. Its a popular spot with local golfers in search of a tune up for their short game, and green fees for a round on what has been described as a "forgiving" 18 holes should be just under $100.
The country club maintains 12 tennis courts, a clubhouse, main pool area and three satellite pools spotted throughout the development. There's a 24-hour security patrol and gardening services are provided.
The clubhouse includes a full-service restaurant and bar, and a full calendar of social events keeps members and their guests smiling.
