Located on the St. Vincent's campus on the north end of San Rafael, Dunham Academy is a non-profit elementary and middle school for exceptionally gifted students. The school offers year-round, small, multi-age classes that move at the students' own pace. Founded in 1998, the school is specifically designed to serve the needs of gifted students who found regular school repetitive and slow-moving. The students are encouraged to move at a faster pace in the subjects they excel at, but the curriculum is tailored for those areas where they have to move at a more standard pace. Students are admitted year-round, based on standardized tests and an interview.
