Midwest Agri-Commodities is a leading marketer of sugar co-products around the globe. In fact, the company markets well over 1 million tons of these co-products each year in North and Central America, Europe and Asia. A joint venture of American Crystal Sugar Company of Moorhead, Minn.; Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative of Wahpeton, N.D.; Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative of Renville, Minn.; and Michigan Sugar Company, Saginaw, Mich.; Midwest represents more than 5,900 growers, who farm some 1 million acres and harvest over 19 million tons of sugar beets each year. Together, the growers produce over half of America's sugar beet co-products. In addition to marketing products from the growers who own the company, it also markets cane molasses produced by the Hawaiian Sugar industry to the United States West Coast and has recently signed an agreement with Minnesota Valley Alfalfa Producers to market the alfalfa pellets and meal produced at the Priam, Minn., facility.
