History
Doug has been a licensed real estate broker since 1988 and has been previously certified by the Superior Court in San Bernardino as an expert in real estate. He owned and operated a real estate brokerage from 1988 to 2000, including a period of time as an owner of a Re/Max franchise. He also earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation [His CCIM certification is not currently active, because he has not paid the high annual dues to keep it active as he is not currently brokering commercial properties], making him a recognized expert in the disciplines of commercial and investment real estate1. He believes that real estate, either publicly owned through REIT investments or through privately owned real estate, is an integral part of a properly diversified investment portfolio. Recognizing the need for more diverse knowledge, Doug began a full time master's degree program at Columbia University in New York in September 2000. He completed the program in May, 2001,
