History
In these years of devoted practice, I've been fortunate to give tens of thousands of massages.... in private practice and integrative healthcare settings working closely with MDs, acupuncturists, chiropractors, and PTs to brighten the lives of those who seek our care. I've had two core trainings- one at the soulful Phillips School of Massage in Nevada City, CA, in 2003, that guided us in melding Eastern and Western approaches with an awareness of unwinding trauma, and the second, at East West College in Portland, OR, a much more clinical approach (and the school responsible for making me a kinesiology nerd), to pass OR state boards and national boards through NCBTMB, where I remain Board Certified. I'm grateful to have studied with many more teacher treasures through the past 17 years of professional practice. More than anything, it is about you and your uniqueness. Each person on my massage table is an extraordinary gift. It will be an honor to meet you and work with you.
Specialties
Welcome. With insatiable curiosity and unwavering dedication, every session is tailored to meet your needs, every time. Our massage time together is informed by years of training in deep tissue connected to breath, trigger point therapy, foot reflexology, Heavenly Essence Medical Qigong, and acupressure. I've trained closely with teacher treasures who guided me in learning about... how massage can meet a person in trauma past or present, and how it can help us to feel safer in our bodies again... massage for people living with cancer in hospitals, homes, and outpatient facilities, as well as skilled compassionate touch in end-of-life care. In my time in Portland, I led and trained a team of incredible massage therapists at a renowned chiropractic clinic, where we treated patients healing through acute and chronic pains, car and bike accidents, and those seeking the fullness of life that integrative care can offer. Since early 2015, it's been a joy to be part of the core massage team at Pixar Animation Studios. As of Spring 2021, I've joyfully started my first term of Chinese Medicine school at ACCHS Oakland, and being engaged in this learning process is infusing our massage practice with extra inspiration.
