History
McGrath/Power Public Relations was founded in 1973 in New York by former journalists Lee McGrath and Larry Power. In 1983, the Agency tapped another pair of former journalists, Jonathan Bloom and Terri Foos Cook, to establish the M/P brand on the West Coast. Today, M/P is led by Bloom and Kate Walker, who formerly ran corporate communications for publicly traded technology leaders Borland and Internet Security Systems. From the outset, M/P rapidly became one of New York's premiere public relations firms for B2B and B2C brands, including American Express Financial Services Reebok, Nikon, The Jacques Cousteau Society and Wild Turkey. The PR firm entered the technology market in 1983 - before Silicon Valley was Silicon Valley. The technology public relations firm has worked successfully with clients at all stages of growth and awareness, including Cisco, TiVo, Vodafone, Symantec, RSA Security, The Open Networking Foundation, SanDisk and LiveOps.
