A Southern California native, Dr. Galang-Lomboy grew up in a household where her mom was a nurse and she was surrounded by medicine. In fact, she had the responsibility to care for her three younger brothers and therefore, her empathetic nature, big heart, and caring demeanor working with kids became apparent at a very early age. Dr. Galang-Lomboy chose to pursue a career as a pediatrician as she loves being around kids. Whether it is meeting the babies, interacting with toddlers, or advising adolescents, she finds it extremely rewarding and fun. She particularly enjoys the close bonds she develops with the families as she watches their children go through the various life stages. Knowing that not all kids are alike, Dr. Galang-Lomboy’s approach to her patients is one that incorporates listening, empathy, and flexibility. She wants her patients to know that she is a part of their team and will work with them on all aspects of their health care. According to Dr. Galang-Lomboy, “I love everything about my job! The most rewarding aspect is that the parents are appreciative. I make it a priority to not rush and take my time to listen and consider the child’s feelings and make sure they are being heard.” Dr. Galang-Lomboy earned her medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine and then completed her residency at University of California, Irvine Medical Center. She has been practicing for over 18 years and treats children of all ages. During her time outside of the office, Dr. Galang-Lomboy enjoys time with her family which includes her three sons, reading, traveling, and sightseeing.
