Stone Steps Haircutting

Hair cuts are offered in a wonderful little wood building off the 101 next to a book store named Ducky Waddles Emporium. The paint scheme inside the salon is reminiscent of the old ice cream paint jobs put on cars in the '50s. You'll find that it suits the place. The sign on the 101 just says "Haircutting Salon," but see the huge duck sign and know you're in the right place.

All American Barber Shop and Hair Studio on Encinitas Boulevard, just west of I-5, combines the charms of a neighborhood barber shop with the selection of a full-service hair salon. The bright, wide-open building has four chairs and two hair-washing stations, serving both walk-ins and appointments. All American Barber Shop and Hair Studio caters to both men and women, with men's cuts costing $12, and a full salon menu for the ladies. The family-owned and -operated business opened in 1989 and has three other locations in San Diego County - two in Oceanside and one in Vista.
