Stella B. Legarda, MD, is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Legarda graduated from St. Louis University College of Medicine, Philippines in 1982. She completed an internship at Columbia-Presbyterian College of Medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York and her neurology residency at Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Legarda completed a fellowship in both electroencephalography and clinical neurophysiology at Miami Children's Hospital Neuroscience Center in Florida. After completing her fellowship, Dr. Legarda joined the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at University of Florida where she was assistant professor and co-director from 1992-97. She was also medical director of regional family neurology at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, South Carolina, from 1998-2009 and associate professor at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC, from 2009-12. Dr. Legarda has enjoyed living in and serving the Monterey community since 2013.
