Serving as Director of the Clinical Neurophysiology Program, Dr. Nuwer joined the UCLA team in the mid-1970s. He is the first neurologist to develop spinal cord intraoperative monitoring, reducing the risk of surgery by more than 60%. He went on to pioneer critical care EEG monitoring.
