The Manhattan Beach Unified School District is made up of 8 schools (one preschool, five elementary, one middle and one high school). The schools included in the district are as follows: Grand View Elementary School, Meadows Elementary School, Pacific Elementary School, Pennekamp Elementary School, Robinson Elementary School, Manhattan Beach Middle School, Mira Costa High School, & Manhattan Beach Preschool. Also included in the MBUSD's jurisdiction are the South Bay Adult School and the Southern California Regional Occupational Center (SoCalROC).

∗ Pacific Elementary School was honored as a 2009 California Service Learning Leader School.
∗ Mira Costa High School's athletic program was awarded the number 11 spot in ESPN's 2009 "Fab 50 U.S. High Schools" list.
∗ The MCHS and MBMS orchestras and the MCHS choir performed at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in June 2009.
∗ Manhattan Beach Middle School was recognized as a 2009 California Distinguished School.
