Founded in 1856, Lowell High School is located in San Francisco, and is a four-year college-preparatory high school. It offers an extensive curriculum to more than 2,500 socially, economically and ethnically diverse students. It is governed by the San Francisco Unified School District. The school offers various subjects, including English, language arts, science, physiology, world and American history, world geography, mathematics and health and physical education. In addition, it offers world languages, computer technology, military science, film as literature and fine arts classes. The school provides a variety of facilities, such as a library, computer laboratory, cafeteria and clinic. Lowell High School also provides a wide range of sports activities that include baseball, basketball, volleyball, football, softball, soccer, badminton, tennis, wrestling, swimming, gymnastics, fencing, golf, cross country and track and field.
