In 1949, Mary Stuart mobilized the local community to save the De La Osa adobe, Garnier House and the spring from developers. She succeeded, and the land surrounding the properties was purchased by the State of California to create Los Encinos State Historic Park.
Today, you'll find a working blacksmith shop, a natural spring and grassy lawns. Admission is free, so come visit the ducks of Los Encinos, host a birthday party, have a picnic or get married here.
