South Gate Public Works is a department of the City of South Gate, a municipality in Los Angeles County, Calf. The department is responsible for capital improvement programs in the city of South Gate, Calif., such as graffiti removal, pothole repair, sidewalk maintenance, street sign maintenance, street sweeping and traffic signal maintenance. The department s graffiti removal program offers one gallon of free paint to volunteers who seek to paint over graffiti. Other services provided by the South Gate Public Works department include tree trimming, tree removal, tree planting and motor oil recycling. The department has a contract with the private recycling company, Klistoff and Sons. The department s partner collects trash and recyclables on a weekly schedule, except on major holidays. Black refuse containers and blue recycling containers are provided by South Gate Public Works and Klistoff and Sons
