Los Angeles Superior Court resolves and records legal matters. The court protects individual rights, liberties and the confidentiality of court participants as required by law. It serves more than 9 million people of Los Angeles County in California with courtrooms spread throughout the 4,000-square-mile county from Pomona to Santa Monica and from Lancaster to Long Beach. Its jurisdiction cases include criminal, civil, juvenile, family law, mental health and probate. Los Angeles Superior Court hosts regular meetings with members of the Bar to discuss procedural issues and other issues of mutual concern. In addition, the court hosts annual events, such as legislative staff outreach program to encourage dialogue between judges and local legislative offices from Los Angeles County in California.
