Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, established in 1985, is one of the various departments governed by County of Los Angeles. The services offered by the public works department include design, construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of roads, bridges, airports, sewers, and flood control and capital projects. It also provides maintenance of utility systems, city wells and sewage pump stations, and operates water storage, conservation and treatment facilities. The department offers 24-hours, seven-days a week emergency services for disaster management. The other departments under County of Los Angeles include finance, public works and utilities, community development, emergency services, and personal and legal development.
