Established in 1972, Long Beach Rescue Mission offers food, clothing, shelter and spiritual guidance to homeless men, women and children. Its programs encourage and help men to deal with substance abuse and find employment. The center is comprised of two facilities, The Samaritan House and Lydia House, which provides shelter for men and women. Long Beach Rescue Mission serves more than 125,000 meals to men, women and children every year. Its learning center offers a computer education program that provides opportunities to learn computer skills and helps individuals in getting their high school diplomas and job skills. Long Beach Rescue Mission is located in Long Beach, Calif.
