Lincoln Training Center s mission is to foster independence and improved quality of life for individuals with disadvantages or developmental disabilities through maximum effort of the organization's staff, membership and volunteers. LTC is run by a volunteer board of directors comprised of 16 business and human services leaders from the Los Angeles County area. It is housed within its corporation-owned 30,000 square foot facility and employs more than 400 people with developmental and physical disabilities annually. Lincoln Training Center was founded in 1964 by a group of parents for the purpose of providing meaningful employment for adults with disabilities. Operating out of a borrowed facility with a small work force of individuals with disabilities, the founding parents took in their first paid contract--rolling newsprint for a local company. This contract resulted in the primary funding for the Center.
