History
San Francisco Pet Hospital, believed to be the oldest veterinary hospital in Northern California, first opened in 1905, a year before the 1906 Earthquake. At the time the hospital treated all types of animals, from carriage horses to dairy cows, but today focuses on the dogs and cats we call part of the family. Our more recent history begins with Dr. Lee Morris who purchased the hospital in 1979 and performed an extensive remodel for two years, re-opening it in 1981. In 2019, after a long and successful career, Dr. Morris sold the hospital to his Associate Veterinarian of 16 years, Dr. Bobby Leyba. Today continuing the legacy established by Dr. Morris, we strive to provide the best client experience and medical care for your pet possible. We pride ourselves on our place in the local neighborhood, and are grateful to our local community for their decades of support and look forward to meeting you and your pet!
