Founded in 1953, Laurence School is an independent, coed day school that offers educational services to students in kindergarten through grade six. The school enrolls more than 250 children and has a staff of over 40 teachers and assistants. It offers a variety of sports activities, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, football and baseball. The school also provides after-school programs in digital photography, animation, chess, robotics, mosaic art and dance. Laurence School offers foreign language classes in Spanish and Mandarin. It additionally provides lessons in cooking, art and literature, percussion and keyboarding. The school offers an orchestra program and organizes summer camps. It maintains technology and sports and performing arts centers, as well as a library that features a collection of nearly 16,500 books. Laurence School is a member of the California Association of Independent Schools and Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
